The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com

The Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General (AGO) has informed the Massachusetts DPU that the AGO "requires no further process" concerning the annual filing made by Nstar (Eversource) to update Nstar's standard complete billing percentages (SCBPs), or purchase of receivables (POR) discount rates, for electricity service

As first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, the AGO had on April 14 requested that the Massachusetts DPU "fully investigate" Nstar's POR filing, with an opportunity for a full procedural schedule with dates for discovery, expert testimony, evidentiary hearings, and the submission of briefs

In an April 28 letter, the AGO now states that, "The AGO has finished its review of the Company’s filing in the above-referenced docket [Nstar POR] and requires no further process in this proceeding at this time."

As more fully discussed in our prior story, ECM had noted that the AGO's earlier request for a full investigation was not typical for the annual POR discount rate proceedings

As first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, Nstar has proposed the following POR discounts to be effective May 1, 2026:

Nstar Electric SCBPs
(Applicable To All Territories)
              Current Proposed
Residential 1.55% 2.10%
Commercial 0.65% 0.58%
Industrial 0.41% 0.03%

Docket 26-POR-02
