The District of Columbia PSC approved Horizon Power & Light's proposed action plan to resolve a request by the Office of People's Counsel for an investigation of Horizon given certain customer complaints (see 11/22).
Specifically, the PSC: (1) approved Horizon's six-part action plan to restore and improve its customer solicitation process; (2) accepted the affidavit of Horizon's president of Operations; (3) denied OPC's request for additional affidavits from other Horizon officers; (4) directed Horizon to submit 30-days written notice to the Commission prior to the resumption of customer solicitations; (5) directed Horizon to provide a random sampling of recorded sales calls and voice verification recordings to the Commission and OPC for the next six months; and (6) shall consider the issues in this matter resolved and may close the case provided the Commission receives no further customer complaints at the end of the six-month period.
The PSC said that the affidavit of Jamie Rigell, attesting to the accuracy of the company's sales script and its Telephone Voice Verification Script, "is another encouraging example that the Company is serious about repairing its customer relations."
