Switch Holds Decline at Oncor, CenterPoint

January marked the first month that Oncor, CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, and AEP Texas Central Company have seen a net decline in the total number of switch holds applicable to residential customers as part of entering into a deferred payment plan with a retail electric provider, according to the latest reports filed with the PUCT.

At Oncor, after reaching 21,408 in December 2011, the number of residential ESI IDs subject to a switch hold decreased to 21,035 as of January 31, 2012.
CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric saw switch holds peak at 14,957 ESI IDs in December, falling to 14,222 as of January 31, 2012.
At AEP Texas Central, the number of residential ESI IDs subject to a switch hold decreased to 6,876 as of January 31, 2012, from the December total of 7,049.
Texas-New Mexico Power saw switch holds decrease to 335 ESI IDs in January, while the number of ESI IDs on a switch hold was steady at AEP Texas North Company at 1,126.
Switch holds still apply to less than 1% of overall residential ESI IDs in ERCOT since the introduction of switch holds in June 2011.
