Stream Energy announced today that it is now serving natural gas customers in the Public Service Electric & Gas (PSE&G) territory of New Jersey.
"[W]e will soon be announcing other local distribution company territories in the northeast U.S. where we will be introducing dual-commodity electricity and natural gas service in the very near future," said Stream Energy chairman Rob Snyder.
While specific markets were not disclosed, as only reported by Matters, Stream previously said in a FERC application that it intended to supply electricity in New York, and it also recently received a Maryland natural gas supplier license (where it is already active for electricity).
"With roughly 1.6 million eligible natural gas customers, PSE&G represents a significant expansion for our deregulated energy footprint," Snyder said.
For residential gas service at PSE&G, Stream is offering a 6-month fixed rate of $0.5880 per therm and a 12-month fixed rate at the same price. The products include a $100 early termination fee.
Stream noted that only about 7% of PSE&G gas customers have switched.
