SBR Energy Continues Expansion Outside of New York by Seeking License in Another New State

SBR Energy, LLC d/b/a Silver Bear Energy applied for a Pennsylvania electric supplier license to serve all customers at PECO, PPL, Penelec, and West Penn Power. As first reported by Matters, SBR Energy, originally a New York ESCO, "is embarking on an aggressive expansion plan in 2013," to serve both electric and natural gas customers outside of New York. SBR Energy has also applied for an Ohio electric supplier license.


Entrust Energy Affiliate North Eastern States Receives Gas, Electric Licenses in Another New State

The Maryland PSC granted North Eastern States, Inc. an electric supplier license to serve residential and commercial customers and a natural gas supplier license to serve all customer classes. As first reported by Matters, North Eastern States is an affiliate of Texas retail provider Entrust Energy.


Texas REP Files to Relinquish License

Occidental Power Services, Inc. filed to voluntarily relinquish its Texas retail electric provider certificate, stating that it does not serve any customers. Occidental Power Services, Inc. had been certified as an Option 2 REP. According to the PUCT's list of REPs, affiliate Occidental Power Marketing LP still holds an Option 2 REP certificate.


National Tax Credit, Inc. Receives Licenses in New State

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio granted National Tax Credit, Inc. electric and natural gas broker/aggregator licenses to serve all types of non-residential customers in all service areas. As only reported by Matters, National Tax Credit, Inc. is a tax credit consultant which is establishing a retail energy brokering and consulting business that will operate in all states offering customer choice.


Choice Energy Services Retail, L.P. Receives License in New State

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio granted Choice Energy Services Retail, L.P. an electric broker/aggregator license to serve all customer classes in all service areas.
