Connecticut Retail Supplier to Relinquish License
Trupro Energy, LLC submitted a request to the Connecticut PURA to rescind its electric supplier license. Trupro Energy had originally submitted a request to withdraw its license last summer, but later withdrew the request (see prior story). Trupro Energy had previously transferred its customer base (less than 100) to default service in the summer of 2012 prior to seeking the first relinquishment. Though PURA reinstated the license, it has not served any accounts since that time. Trupro said that it is no longer an active participant with NEPOOL.
Glacial Energy Launches Charity Affinity Program
Glacial Energy formally announced a charitable affinity program called Glacial Cares. Customers can allocate a portion of each bill to a nonprofit organization serving the communities where they do business. Glacial Energy makes the donation directly to the charity in the customer's name. To date, customers have utilized the Glacial Cares program to donate nearly $350,000 to local charitable nonprofits.
