The Pennsylvania PUC granted Dynegy Energy Services (East), LLC, a unit of Vistra Energy, an amended retail electric supplier license to reflect the addition of the trade name Brighten Energy to the certificate.
Dynegy's addition of the Brighten Energy brand name had been first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com last year
In seeking the certificate amendment, Dynegy Energy Services stated that it "intends" to use the trade name Brighten Energy as well as "Dynegy"
Brighten, as was exclusively first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com in 2010, was a brand first contemplated to be used by an affiliate of TXU Energy as it considered entering the Pennsylvania market, as it obtained (and later relinquished) a license but never entered the Pennsylvania market to serve customers
