FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Residential Prices To Compare Decreasing, Nearly 10% In Some Service Areas

The FirstEnergy Pennsylvania utilities have filed new tariffed residential PTC-Default rates with the Pennsylvania PUC for the three-month period starting March 1, 2022

The PTC-Default rates are the all-in default service rates without the application of the State Tax Adjustment Surcharge (essentially, the PTC prior to application of the STAS), which is currently 0%. The utilities have not yet posted new official PTCs; the tariff filings with the new rates have not yet been approved by the PUC as of publication time

At Met-Ed, the tariffed residential PTC-Default rate will be $0.06832 per kWh effective March 1, an 8% decrease versus the current $0.07414 per kWh.

At Penelec, the tariffed residential PTC-Default rate will be $0.06232 per kWh effective March 1, a 4% decrease versus the current $0.06507 per kWh

At Penn Power, the tariffed residential PTC-Default rate will be $0.07082 per kWh effective March 1, a nearly 7% decrease versus the current $0.07593 per kWh

At West Penn Power, the tariffed residential PTC-Default rate will be $0.05667 per kWh effective March 1, a marginal decrease versus the current $0.05698 per kWh

All of the new PTC-Default rates for the FirstEnergy Pennsylvania EDCs are to be in effect for the period March 1, 2022 through May 31, 2022.
